March Paper Pumpkin Memorable Meadows Alternatives

 It's been a Paper Pumpkin week.  I have been working on several of my Paper Pumpkin kits the last month or so, and I'm so happy to be sharing my alternatives for our March kit.  The last three kits have been amazing, in my opinion. I have been having fun creating different ideas. Here's my March kit alternatives:

The March kit is called Memorable Meadows, and it comes with all the parts to make 9 cards and envelopes.  I decided to stretch this kit (to 18 cards) and cut apart all the cards that came inside the box and used my own cardstock from my stash to create card bases. This kit also came with some wood elements that are very nice. However, I like to mail my cards and I was a bit worried that they might get damaged in the mail. So, I opted not to use the wood pieces and instead, either stamped on the designer paper or created a sentiment on another piece of cardstock when I ran out of the cardstock pieces that came with the kit.

Let's talk about the gorgeous watercolor designs on these cards. WOW! This photo does not do them justice.  Move over, Monet! Look how everything "goes together". The front of the card finishes its beautiful painting on the back, so when you cut these apart, you have a beautiful, matched design and 2 cards to boot! How sweet is that?  I added gems from my stash and a few pieces of purple from the January kit to add some interest to these gorgeous cards.

January Paper Pumpkin Kit Alternatives

 So much is happening in my world! It's all good, so that's a blessing for sure.  I have been purging, re-organizing and creating for the last month.  Today I'd like to show you the alternative cards I made from our January Lovely Lavender Paper Pumpkin kit.  I loved this kit so much that I did buy a refill, so I could extend the love even more.  I always need a lot of birthday cards, so I combined some stamps from the January and February kits, to stamp sentiments on some of the cards.  Here's what I created:

By the time I'm done, I will have 30 cards from one kit and one kit refill! As you can see, I still have 3 more to finish and I may end up making even more. Not a bad investment. These will come out to about a dollar or less per card. That's even better than the dollar store ($1.50 store now).

I love the versatility in our kits!  Everything you need is right inside the box.  Stamps, ink, cardstock bases, envelopes, twine, embellishments.  There are always plenty of parts inside, and if you choose not to make alternatives, you'll usually have parts leftover for another time.  For these, I added some pearls and gems from my stash.  I cut the card bases apart to use as layers, then used card stock I have on hand to create the card bases.  I also used different inks that coordinated with the kit. Some sentiments were from previous kits, that just worked out well for these.

Flowers and Thinking of You

Isn't it nice to think of someone special?  The memories, laughter, maybe a few tears...it's all part of the friendship.  I am so blessed to have so many wonderful memories with so many wonderful friends I've made throughout the years.  Some friends stay with us our whole lives while others, seem to flit by in an instant, leaving a lovely mark and memories to last a lifetime.  Family is family, but friends are our chosen family and today, I'm honoring all of my beautiful friends.   You know who you are; I love you all.

 

Friday, I posted that we will have some new Online Exclusives products available March 5. The Flowering Zinnias suite is one of my favorites. The bright colors of the designer series paper and the detailed images in the stamp set are perfect for a card or scrapbook page.  The embossing folder is gorgeous, and the dies cut out the images perfectly, including some of the flowers on the paper.

Sneak Peek - Flowering Zinnias Suite

 Hello and welcome! I hope you're having a great day.  In just a few days, we will have another release of our Online Exclusives, ready for your crafting fun.  The Flowering Zinnias suite is absolutely beautiful, and there's just so much to say about it.  Here's a quick peek at what you'll get in this delightful suite of products.

Just look at this beautiful designer series paper.  And the sequins and embossing folder are fantastic too. The detail of the stamped images is crisp and clean.  Although I didn't use the embossing folder or the dies, I made good use of the paper, stamps and sequins.  

I don't know what this fun fold is called as I received one like it in a card swap I participated in.  I loved it so much I figured out how to make one.  I'm calling this a "Flip Gatefold".  

It does take one sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 cardstock to make one card, so I'm not sure I would be willing to make too many of these at once, but I love it just the same. I'm anxious to play with the embossing folder and dies soon. When I do, I'll share what I made.
